Official Solution
Indicates a router/hotspot compatibility issue. Test connection under Settings > Internet; if it fails, move closer to router or switch to 5 GHz.
Power-cycle networking gear, then console: unplug router 30 s, hold POWER 20 s on Deck, reconnect.
If college or hotel Wi-Fi is in use, register the console's MAC address via captive portal or use a personal mobile hotspot.
Persistent issues: set DNS 8.8.8.8 / 1.1.1.1 manually.
Common Symptoms
- Download queue stalls at "Waiting..." then shows 2137-8051
- eShop times out when redeeming codes on campus Wi-Fi
- Original Switch on same network works fine—problem unique to Switch 2 Wi-Fi 6E radio
Hardware Information
Error stems from network stack handshake time-outs; new Broadcom Wi-Fi 6E chipset can mis-negotiate WPA-Enterprise networks.
No evidence of defective antenna; mostly firmware/driver layer.

BeginnerStep-by-Step Solutions
Restart router & console
Power-cycle router and console to refresh network connection
Switch to 5 GHz band or mobile hotspot
Connect to 5 GHz Wi-Fi network or use mobile hotspot as alternative
Manually set DNS 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 (Settings > Internet > DNS)
Configure manual DNS settings to bypass router DNS issues
Forget network → re-add with WPA2 (disable WPA-E)
Remove existing network connection and reconnect using WPA2 instead of WPA-Enterprise
Use USB-C LAN adapter in dock, download all pending updates, then Wi-Fi works thereafter
Connect wired ethernet via USB-C adapter to complete downloads, then wireless should function normally
