System Error, Please Restart
⚠️ Important Warning
Apply these solutions with caution.
Refer to official manufacturer website for authoritative information. For reference only.
Official Solution
Restart the console: hold POWER 3 s → Power Options → Restart. If unresponsive, hold POWER 12 s to force shut-down, then reboot.
If the error re-appears, boot into Recovery Mode (POWER + Volume Up + Volume Down) and choose Update System; if that fails, select Initialize Console Without Deleting Save Data.
For units stuck at the language-select screen, Nintendo recommends a full system update via recovery before completing setup.
Common Symptoms
- Freeze on first boot at language or Wi-Fi menu, followed by error 2162-0002
- Random crash when resuming from sleep after a day-one firmware update
- Blue LED "shipping-mode" blink after repeated force-shutdowns
Hardware Information
Primarily a kernel panic caused by incomplete firmware patching; hardware faults are rare.
Edge cases implicate the M92T36 power-management IC or bad battery cells, usually on units that also displayed blue-screen-of-death prior to purchase.
