This is a software and data licensing error. It is caused by a mismatch between your account's entitlements on the PlayStation Network and the data installed on your console's SSD. It is not an indication of a failing SSD.

Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses. Select 'Restore' and wait for the process to complete. This resyncs all your content licenses with your account.

This error usually signifies a software or data corruption issue on the console's SSD. While persistent errors across all games after a factory reset could hint at an SSD failure, this is rare. It's most often solved with software-based troubleshooting.

The first and simplest step. Use the control center to fully restart your PS5, do not use Rest Mode. This can resolve many temporary software glitches.

If you are playing a physical version, eject the disc. Check for any dust, fingerprints, or scratches. Clean it gently with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth, wiping from the center outwards.

This is not a hardware error. It is a billing and account verification issue between your PSN account, Sony's payment servers, and your financial institution.

Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Payment Methods. Select your card and choose 'Edit'. Meticulously check that your name and billing address are entered exactly as they appear on your bank statement, including postal code.

While officially a generic 'data error', community and repair-shop consensus links persistent CE-107872-5 errors directly to the degradation or failure of the PS5's internal NVMe SSD. Demanding games that stream terabytes of data over their lifespan can expose weak or failing NAND flash cells on the SSD, causing read errors that lead to this crash. This is distinct from other errors and is a primary symptom of a failing core hardware component.

The first step is to rule out a simple data corruption. Highlight the game, press OPTIONS, and select 'Delete'. Reinstall the game from your library. If the error was a one-time glitch, this may fix it.

The first and most important step. Check the inbox (and spam folder) of the email address linked to your PSN account. Sony will have sent an email explaining the reason for the suspension/ban and its duration (e.g., 7 days, 30 days, or permanent).

PSN Access Denied (Account Suspended or Banned)

This is a pure network communication error, not a hardware fault. The problem lies between your console and the PSN update servers, caused by either server-side congestion, a local network glitch, or a DNS resolution issue.

Before anything else, visit status.playstation.com. Check the status of 'PSN account management' and 'Game and social'. If they are not green, you must wait for Sony to fix the issue.
