BeginnerStep-by-Step Solutions
This error is frequently caused by server-side issues at Sony. Before extensive troubleshooting, always check the PSN status page first.
Check the PlayStation Network Status Page
Visit status.playstation.com. If any services show red or orange icons, especially 'Account Management' or 'PlayStation Store', you must wait for Sony to resolve the problem.
Restart Your Router and PS5
Unplug your modem and router from power for at least 5 minutes. While they are off, perform a full restart of your PS5 console from the power menu. Once the router is back online, try connecting again.
Change DNS Settings
Go to Settings > Network > Settings > Set Up Internet Connection. Select your network, choose 'Advanced Settings', and set DNS to 'Manual'. Use Primary: 1.1.1.1 and Secondary: 1.0.0.1 (Cloudflare), or Primary: 8.8.8.8 and Secondary: 8.8.4.4 (Google).
Update Router Firmware
This is an advanced step. Log in to your router's administration page from a PC and check if there are any available firmware updates for your router model. Outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues.
